Medical

Nurse/EMT, Pancho, along with our Migrant Services Team, coordinates and provides medical care to everyone we serve. This includes emergency medical and dental care, doctor visits, medications, lab work, diagnostic testing and procedures. We provide medical equipment when needed (i.e. wheelchairs, oxygen tanks, blood pressure machines, etc.) as well as transportation to and from medical appointments.

Housing

We provide safe, comfortable housing in apartments in Nogales, Sonora, We prioritize families, and our apartments are often at capacity.

As of late January, 2025, all U.S. asylum requests were denied, which has created a population of refugees. Additionally, there is a growing population of recent deportees in Nogales whom we help pay for rent and utilities in rentals across the city.

Volunteers visit our apartments to provide ESL classes, arts & crafts, fellowship and emotional support.

Support

We provide food, clothing, and daily necessities to everyone we serve.

We help families and deportees navigate Mexican bureaucracies to get their necessary IDs and access to health care and school systems. For adults, we offer resources and guidance regarding trade schools and other educational opportunities that will set them on the path to financial independence and success in this unexpected chapter in their lives.

We connect non Mexican Nationals with the legal services they need to pursue their refugee status in Mexico.

We also help with transportation costs for those who decide to return home or relocate to other areas in Mexico.
