Medical

Nurse/EMT, Pancho, along with our Migrant Services Team, coordinates and provides free medical care which includes paying for doctor visits and emergency dental appointments, medications, lab work and necessary diagnostic testing and procedures. We provide medical equipment when needed (i.e. wheelchairs, oxygen tanks, etc) as well as transportation to and from medical appointments.

Support

We provide safe, comfortable housing in apartments, as well as food, clothing, and daily necessities to migrating families in Nogales, Sonora. Some of our guests had hoped to request asylum in the US, and are now stuck in limbo, and others are recently deported.

Our apartments can accommodate up to 24 people and are often at capacity, so we help others pay for rent and utilities in rentals across the city.

Volunteers visit our apartment guests to provide ESL classes, arts & crafts, and emotional support.

Resources

We help recently deported people who decide to stay in Nogales, and who are not Mexican Nationals, navigate the government requirements to try to apply for asylum in Mexico.  We help all our guests enroll their children in school, as well as work directly with each family to make sure they have the resources they need to start their new lives.

We also help with transportation costs for those who decide to return home or relocate to other areas of Mexico.
